Continental - The term “continental breakfast” refers to the continent of Europe and the style of breakfast enjoyed in European cultures. The term first appeared in 1896 as a result of the turning of the century. Prior to the 1800s, the most common American jobs involved farm work and demanded a high-calorie breakfast to start the day

A continental breakfast is a light morning meal typically consisting of pastries and baked goods, fruits, toast, and coffee. It is usually served buffet-style and modeled after the European breakfast, similar to what one would enjoy in France or the Mediterranean. Continental breakfasts emphasize simplicity and focus on foods that can easily be stocked.

A typical continental breakfast menu may include a variety of items such as:

Fresh Pastries: Croissants, pain au chocolat, and other buttery delights ( muffins, pasties, waffles

Breads and Toast: Slices of crusty bread or toast with an assortment of jams and spreads.

Cereals: A selection of cereals and muesli with milk or yogurt.

Fruits: Fresh fruits such as oranges, apples, and bananas.

Cheeses and Cold Cuts: A selection of cheeses and sliced meats like ham or salami.

Beverages: Coffee, tea, and fruit juices.

European breackfast - However, typical European breakfast dishes such as crepes, waffles, pancakes and pastries with sweet toppings are an excellent way to start the day, as they are quite pleasing to the palate. While typically associated with the first meal of the day, they're actually great any time!
